Software Engineer, Infrastructure

Overview In this role you will help build and scale CLEAR's secure identity infrastructure. You will contribute to a Kubernetes-based compute platform on AWS and implement scalable networking, with a focus on reliability and simplicity. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to improve observability and drive cloud-native design. Compensation / Benefitscatered lunches every daywellness and development stipendscomprehensive healthcarefertility and adoption/surrogacy supportflexible time off 401(k) with employer match Responsibilities Develop and maintain a streamlined process for engineers to build and deploy scalable, reliable software-defined networking on AWS.Enhance the compute platform (Kubernetes) with new features, focusing on AWS networking services and concepts (VPCs, Route Tables, SGs, ALBs/ELBs, Route 53) and optimize service communication. Collaborate across engineering teams to implement observability practices using Splunk or Datadog for robust network monitoring. Act as product owner for infrastructure, gathering feedback from engineering teams to address pain points and develop AWS networking and cloud-native solutions. Key requirements 0-2 years of experience in infrastructure and platform development and AWS cloud services. Proficient in Python, with understanding of Kubernetes and container orchestration tools like EKS and ECS.Knowledge of AWS networking services (VPC design, SGs, NATGWs, ALBs/ELBs, Route 53) and security features (AWS Network Firewall, AWS WAF).Experience with IaC tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or Cloud Formation. Strong product- and user-centric mindset.
