Senior AWS Cloud Engineer

Overview In this role you design, implement, and manage scalable AWS cloud infrastructure with a focus on resiliency, cost efficiency, and data security. You’ll work with a regionally distributed team to advance infrastructure as code and cloud-native architectures. Expect involvement in on-prem-to-AWS migrations and cross-functional collaboration to sustain secure, observable systems. This is a hands-on, impact-oriented opportunity at a long-standing insurance provider driving modernization. Responsibilities Design and manage AWS infrastructure for high availability and cost-effectiveness Define deployment standards for AWS services Lead on-premises to AWS migration initiatives Configure secure VPCs, subnets, security groups, and related networking across cloud and co-location environments Maintain comprehensive documentation for support and maintainability Collaborate cross-functionally with Application Development, Infrastructure, and Security teams Implement monitoring (e.g., Cloud Watch) for health, performance, and security Enforce security/compliance including encryption, access control, and audit logging Provide off-hours support for cloud infrastructure issues Key requirements Terraform expertise with complex module development Advanced Python for automation and integration with AWSProficiency with Docker and Kubernetes for containerized workloads Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, Cloud Watch, Cloud Trail for observability Extensive AWS services experience (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, Cloud Formation, Cloud Watch)Strong networking knowledge (VPC, subnets, ACLs, security groups)Experience designing large-scale Kubernetes platforms Familiarity with DNS architecture Git Hub and Jenkins Pipelines, VS Code for infra and dev lifecycle management Technical documentation authoring IaC and cloud security best practices (NIST)Strong analytical and cross-functional collaboration skills Familiarity with ITIL and AgileAWS Professional Architect certification or equivalent Cross-functional collaboration Effective communication Analytical problem-solving TerraformAWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, Cloud Formation)Kubernetes
