Sr. Designer, Design System

Overview As Senior Design System Designer, you will advance Ninja Trader’s design system across web, desktop, and mobile to enable scalable, accessible experiences. You’ll partner with the Design Systems Lead to raise quality and consistency, while collaborating with Product and Engineering to implement components in Storybook. You’ll optimize design tokens, libraries, and Figma workflows, driving adoption and governance. This role blends craft with systems thinking to elevate product quality in a fast-growing trading platform. Compensation / Benefits 401k with company match 3.5%Paid time off and holidays Parental bonding leave Health, vision, dental coverage Life and disability insurance covered 100%Hybrid/remote work options Responsibilities Evolve and scale design system across web, desktop, and mobile with Design Systems Lead Create, document, and maintain reusable UI components, patterns, templates, and interaction guidelines Extend design token architecture for scalable cross-platform implementation Collaborate with Engineering to ensure accurate implementation in Storybook and production Identify opportunities to improve consistency, usability, accessibility, and efficiency Build and optimize Figma libraries, variables, plugins, automation, and AI-assisted workflows Support product designers with guidance, documentation, onboarding, and best practices Contribute to governance processes to evolve the design system while preserving product velocity Define and track adoption metrics, component health, and system usage Key requirements 7+ years in UX/UI or Product Design with at least 2 years focused on design systems Experience designing, documenting, and maintaining scalable component libraries for complex digital products Expert proficiency in Figma (components, variables, auto layout, libraries, automation)Strong knowledge of design tokens, component architecture, and design-to-development workflows Working knowledge of Storybook and frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, Java Script) and collaboration with engineers Familiarity with WCAG and inclusive design practices Strong visual and interaction design and systems thinking with a portfolio Experience balancing consistency with product flexibility across teams Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation; ability to influence without authority Passion for craftsmanship and continuous improvementcollaborationcommunicationdocumentation Figma (components, variables, auto layout, libraries)Design tokens Storybook
