Software Engineer, Data Science

Overview In this role you will build, modernize, and scale internal applications that support scientific and operational workflows. You’ll work across the full stack, emphasizing maintainability and long-term scalability, and help raise the bar on code quality within a distributed engineering team. You’ll contribute to architecture decisions and own features end-to-end, shaping the technical direction. This is a hands-on role with impact on how the organization enables research and operations at scale. Compensation / Benefitsmedical, dental, visionlife insurancedisability coveragegenerous paid time off 401(k) with matching contributions Employee Stock Purchase Program Responsibilities Design and build backend services and APIs that are reliable and well-tested Create and maintain user interfaces using React or modern frontend frameworks Own features end-to-end from API design to UI implementation Contribute to architecture discussions and design decisions Champion best practices and elevate code quality through thoughtful reviews Key requirements Bachelor's degree with 8 years of related experience or Master's degree with 6 years Experience building full stack applications in production Hands-on Python with Flask, FastAPI, or similar Proficiency with React or a modern frontend framework Strong foundation in software engineering best practices (testing, clean code, maintainability)Experience reviewing production code and providing constructive feedback Familiarity with relational databases and data modeling Comfort with version control, automated testing, and CI/CD workflows Strong communication, collaboration, and ambiguity navigation Preferred: experience with microservices and microfrontend architectures, distributed/offshore teams, modern frontend frameworks, and modernization of legacy systems Background in scientific, analytical, or data-driven environments Strong communication Collaborative mindset Ability to navigate ambiguity Python Flask or FastAPIReact
