Senior Vice President, Back-End Engineer

Overview In this role you will design and scale backend software for core banking features, working with cross-functional teams to meet regulatory and performance standards. You will drive architectural improvements, implement secure and testable code, and contribute to test automation and documentation. You will evaluate compliance with technology standards and explore emerging technologies to support growth and transformation. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on delivering reliable, scalable backend systems in a regulated financial environment. Compensation / Benefitscompetitive compensationbonus and incentive packagesbenefits and wellbeing programspaid leaves including paid volunteer time Responsibilities Consult with internal business groups to provide high-level software development services and support Scale backend architecture and codebase to support growth Evaluate compliance with technology standards Develop well-designed, testable, efficient code Design and develop tests and test-automation suites Create flowcharts, layouts and documentation to satisfy requirements Maintain software functionality and reduce technical debt Participate in code reviews and integrate components into a functional system Apply security and privacy principles Collaborate with IT management on implementation opportunities and challenges of applications Define corporate implementation and integration strategies for new technologies Pursue learning and personal development through targeted training Stay abreast of emerging technologies and advocate innovative solutions Work remotely within a commutable distance from the worksite (where permitted) Key requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field, or foreign equivalent Nine years of progressively responsible experience in software development in financial/banking domains Proficiency with Java/J2EE technologies and UI technologies Experience with REST, Web Services, Cache Frameworks, and Event Driven Frameworks Proficient in JUnit for test planning and unit testing Experience with Jira, Agile methodology (Scrum)Experience optimizing performance using multithreading and debugging tools (Eclipse, Log 4j, App Dynamics)Ability to analyze problems and provide business-oriented recommendations Experience with security and privacy principles in software development Experience in collaborating with IT management and technical staff Java/J2EEUI technologiesRESTWeb Services Cache Frameworks Event Driven Frameworks
