Overview Senior/Staff Software Engineer at Nuro leads ML data engine architecture, turning vast autonomy data into high-quality training signals. You will collaborate with Autonomy ML researchers and infrastructure teams to design scalable data ingestion, labeling, and introspection tools. You’ll build data products for researchers, optimize data quality, and handle active learning workflows at scale. Compensation / Benefitsbase pay with range 193,930–352,290annual performance bonusequitycompetitive benefits package Responsibilities Design and build scalable data ingestion and processing pipelines for training data Lead data quality improvement, anomaly detection, and handling of out-of-distribution samples Develop ML data tooling and visualization interfaces for data introspection and distribution shift analysis Collaborate with data operations to automate QC and feedback loops between model performance and annotations Lead engineering efforts for active learning, embedding computation, and scalable data sampling for labeling Key requirements 7+ years of experience in ML data engineering and multi-system architectureB.S./M.S. in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or equivalent experience Strong proficiency in C++ and Python with experience managing petabyte-scale data Experience translating data concepts into production-grade services (24/7)Cross-functional collaboration Problem solving with practical, production-oriented mindset Communication with researchers and engineersML data pipelinesdata ingestion and processing at scalevector databases and embedding workflows
