Principal DevOps Engineer

Overview In this role you will design, operate, and continuously improve FedRAMP-aligned cloud infrastructure for mission-critical systems. You’ll collaborate with Platform, Security, Compliance, and Engineering teams to deliver audit-ready environments while balancing velocity and security. You’ll own cloud reliability, automation, and evidence generation to support audits and continuous improvement. This is a security-first, platform-level opportunity with impact across governance, operations, and delivery. You will help shape scalable, compliant cloud platforms at Evolv. Compensation / Benefits Equity as part of total compensation Medical, dental, and vision insurance Health Savings Account (HSA)401(k) plan with 2% company match Flexible PTOTuition reimbursement Responsibilities Design, deploy, and operate AWS cloud infrastructure in FedRAMP-authorized environments Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code for secure, repeatable deployments Support Dev Sec Ops pipelines with security controls, logging, and policy enforcement Collaborate with Security and Compliance on audits, assessments, and POA&M activities Manage logging, monitoring, vulnerability management, and incident response workflows Document architectures, operational processes, and compliance evidence Collaborate across teams to improve reliability, security posture, and operational maturity Key requirementsU.S. Citizen or Green-card holder 5+ years in cloud engineering, Dev Ops, or platform operations Hands-on experience operating AWS environments Experience in compliance-driven or regulated environments Strong Linux, networking, IAM, and cloud security fundamentals Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools Clear communication and ability to work cross-functionallyclear communicationcross-functional collaborationproblem-solvingAWSFedRAMP familiarity Infrastructure as Code
