Overview As a New York-based Copy Editor, you ensure accuracy and consistency across time-sensitive research, rating reports, and marketing materials. You will collaborate with the EP team across US and Europe to uphold KBRA’s standards of timely, transparent research. Your work focuses on improving quality, tone, and adherence to the style guide, while maintaining deadlines in a fast-paced publishing environment. This role offers a chance to shape editorial quality and leverage AI tools to boost efficiency and accuracy. You will work closely with analysts and cross-functional partners to safeguard consistency and integrity of published materials. Compensation / Benefitsflexible hybrid work schedulecompetitive benefits and paid time offpaid family and disability leave 401(k) with employer match (100% vested)educational and professional development financial assistanceemployee referral bonus program Responsibilities Edit time-sensitive materials in American and British English for quality, tone, and grammar according to the style guide Review documents with Track Changes and PDF markups to provide rewrite suggestions Perform QA proofreading for documents converted to the proprietary publishing platform Apply proofreading styles to ensure high quality within timelines Collaborate with Desktop Publishers to provide feedback Track recurring errors and provide timely feedback Document and formalize evolving editorial processes Check graphs and tables are correctly referenced throughout the text Defend editorial judgment and uphold quality standards Prioritize and coordinate competing tasks under pressure Collaborate with Analysts, Credit Policy, Compliance, and Legal to improve material quality Help familiarize analysts with editorial/compliance procedures, templates, and publishing systems Leverage AI tools to improve quality and turnaround times Key requirements Bachelor’s degree and relevant experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven publishing environment Experience as a copy editor in a corporate or newsroom setting Experience in headline writing and reshaping press releases is a plus Ability to rewrite text sensitively without changing meaning Proactive in resolving queries with authors; handling inconsistencies Knowledge of financial markets and financial terminology is desirable Experience with publishing platforms or CMS (e.g., Eidos Media Méthode)Excellent Microsoft Word and Excel skills Familiarity with AI tools in editorial/production Strong verbal and written communication skills across levels Excellent organizational and time-management skills Ability to take initiative and work independently and with teams Flexibility to work outside regular hours if needed Familiarity with Generative AI tools such as ChatGPT for research and productivity is a plusstrong communicationexcellent organizational skillstime-management Content Management System (Eidos Media Méthode)Microsoft Word and Excel Track Changes and PDF markups
