Service Writer

Service Writer Pay: $24 - $30 Per Hour Job Type: Customer Service Summary We're looking for a highly motivated and customer-focused service writer to join our team. You'll be the first point of contact for our valued customers, acting as a liaison between them and our mechanics. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy-duty trucks and RV(s), excellent communication and customer service skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. If you're passionate about the trucking industry and thrive in a team environment, Job Description:Responsibilities Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner, both in person and over the phone Actively listen to customer concerns and accurately assess repair needs Schedule service appointments and effectively communicate estimated timelines Create and manage repair orders, ensuring accurate information and clear communication with technicians Obtain customer authorization for repairs and provide detailed service cost estimates Provide regular updates to customers on the progress of their repairs Process payments and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the repair process Maintain accurate customer records and shop documentation Requirements 2+ years of experience in a service writer role, preferably within the heavy-duty truck and RV industry Strong understanding of heavy-duty truck operation and repair procedures Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building rapport and resolving customer concerns Proficient in computer skills, including experience with service management software (CDK or similar a plus) and Microsoft Suite Ability to multi-task, prioritize workload, and manage deadlines effectively Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment Shift Schedule Type of employment (full-time, part-time, etc.) Expected hours Days/hours the employee is expected to work (weekends, night shifts, etc.) Overtime requirements Shift Schedule: Full Time 40 hours per week Benefits: Health Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Paid Holidays Paid Personal Days At Suncoast Fleet Services, we are dedicated to fostering diversity and inclusivity.
