We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Copy Editor to join our content team. You will review, refine, and polish articles, blog posts, and digital materials to ensure they meet our brand's voice and highest quality standards. Ultimately, you will collaborate closely with writers, designers, and content managers to deliver clean, engaging, and error-free content on tight deadlines. Responsibilities Proofread and Edit: Correct errors in grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, and formatting. Improve Readability: Streamline prose, trim unnecessary words, eliminate jargon, and enhance the overall flow and clarity of the text. Enforce Style Guidelines: Ensure all content strictly adheres to the designated house style or standard guides (e.g., AP, Chicago, APA). Fact-Check: Verify facts, statistics, dates, names, and internal consistency within the text. Collaborate with Writers: Provide constructive feedback and partner with authors to sharpen their messaging and research skills. Write Display Copy: Craft compelling headlines, subheadings, captions, and summaries as needed. Manage Deadlines: Prioritize assignments and manage multiple editing projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Requirements and Skills Experience: Minimum of 2 3 years of proven experience as a copy editor, proofreader, or in a similar editorial role. Education: Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field. Language Proficiency: Exceptional command of the primary publication language, with an expert grasp of grammar and mechanics. Attention to Detail: A meticulous eye for spotting inconsistencies, typos, and structural issues in large volumes of text. Software Skills: Proficiency in word processing tools (Microsoft Word, Google Docs) and familiarity with content management systems (CMS) or publishing tools.
