Project Manager - Executive (Non-Tech)- PMO

We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to help drive the delivery of a short-term PMO initiative in Minneapolis, MN. In this role, you’ll lead project execution from planning through completion, keeping scope, schedule, budget, risks, and quality aligned with business goals. Responsibilities Guide project deliverables from charter through implementation and transition to business operations Build and maintain a clear project plan, including tasks, dependencies, milestones, and work breakdown structure Partner with key stakeholders, sponsors, steering committees, and project teams to keep everyone informed and engaged Identify resource needs and coordinate with leadership to help ensure the right support is in place Track project progress, success measures, risks, issues, and action plans throughout the lifecycle Support decision-making by analyzing performance, evaluating trade-offs, and recommending effective solutions Manage corrective actions and change requests to help keep the project on track Prepare and share regular status updates and communications with internal and external partners Maintain project documentation, artifacts, and records in line with established methodology and tools Collaborate with business, vendor, technology, and PMO partners to align on objectives and deliverables Skills Proven experience leading complex projects from planning through delivery Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques Ability to manage multiple priorities in a changing or ambiguous environment Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with sound judgment Strong communication skills with the ability to keep stakeholders informed and engaged Attention to detail and a results-driven mindset Ability to work independently with limited direction while staying aligned with project goals Ability to coordinate across diverse teams and stakeholder groups effectively Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience Preferred Skills Experience supporting PMO or executive-level project work Familiarity with CMMI methods Background in cost-benefit analysis and project performance tracking Experience working with steering committees and project sponsors Ability to coach and support team members while holding deliverables accountable Comfort working in fast-moving environments with evolving priorities Horizontal is committed to building inclusive teams and fostering a workplace where different perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds are valued.
