Lead Software Engineer - Java

Overview In this role you will lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable web applications and microservices that power the Game Stop omni-channel shopping experience. You will work with cross-functional partners to deliver high-performing, customer-centric software that scales for millions of users. You will mentor peers, influence architecture, and drive performance improvements in a fast-paced environment. This is a hands-on leadership role that shapes engineering outcomes and customer experiences. Responsibilities Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to build shopping experiences across platforms Architect, design, and implement high-performant web applications and services Work across front-end, middle tier, and back-end services Translate requirements into architecture, design, and extensible code Write scalable, readable, and tested code with ongoing performance optimization Review code and provide feedback to peers to improve solutions Provide mentorship to less experienced engineers Use data to inform prioritization decisions Operate effectively in ambiguous environments and make tradeoffs for customer impact Establish strong relationships across the organization Be results-oriented, data-driven, and focused on innovative customer experiences Key requirements Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent relevant experience 12+ years of relevant experience building highly performant full-stack applications and services Thrives in fast-paced, startup-like, agile environments Strong fundamentals in computer science, OOD, and data structures Working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and modern Java Script Experience with HTML5, CSS, and web frameworks such as React or Angular Proficiency in at least one modern language/tech (Java, Java Script, Node.js, Angular.js, or React)3+ years of experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service Proven track record of collaborating across multiple teams Collaborative Customer-focused Bias for actionHTML5, CSS3, and modern Java Script React or Angular in a production environment Java, Java Script, Node.js, Angular.js, or React
