Overview
In this role you build and execute McKinstry’s enterprise workforce development strategy to align talent with business needs. You will lead academies, training locations, and partnerships that scale from the McKinstry Academy to regional facilities. You collaborate across operations, education partners, labor groups, and governance forums to create durable talent supply. You’ll shape programs that deliver real career pathways and measurable outcomes. This is a mission-driven, cross-functional role at the intersection of strategy, community, and craft.

Responsibilities Develop and execute the enterprise workforce development strategy to meet current and future business demand Lead the academy and training-location strategy, governance, and expansion Design, govern, and continuously improve workforce development programs and career pathways Coordinate with the Workforce Development Committee, Talent Acquisition, Enterprise Learning & Talent Management, Finance, and partners to align investments Build and manage strategic partnerships with education providers, labor organizations, and community groups
Key requirements 10+ years of progressive experience in workforce development, talent development, learning and development, education partnerships, academy or training-location models, program strategy, HR, operations, or related work Experience designing or leading workforce development programs tied to real business needs Strong understanding of career-connected learning, work-based learning, apprenticeship concepts, and technical training Ability to operate across Talent Acquisition, Enterprise Learning & Talent Management, Social Impact, operations, and executive governance Strong business acumen, stakeholder management, facilitation, communication, budgeting, and outcomes measurement Experience leading teams or cross-functional initiatives in a matrixed organization Ability to clarify boundaries and govern shared work with partner functionsstakeholder managementfacilitationcommunicationcollaborationstrategic thinking
