Configuration Technician

Location: 100% onsite in Bloomington, MN

Duration: 6+ months

Pay Rate: $25-28/hr

Schedule: 20 to 40 hours a week consistently

Shift: 8:30-5pm Some night shifts are also available on occasion.

Job Overview: We are seeking an entry-level ITLS Configuration Technician to support depot operations, asset lifecycle management, and equipment configuration. Working alongside Lead Configuration Technicians, you will handle physical equipment staging, unboxing/reboxing, and basic hardware troubleshooting. Experience with Cisco systems is preferred (learning on the job is encouraged), though formal certifications and college degrees are not required.

Key Responsibilities: Configuration Support: Assist technicians in configuring hardware and preparing deployment orders. Depot & Asset Management: Support Asset Lifecycle Management (ALM) processes, including receiving, inspecting, cleaning, inventory tracking, and maintaining depot cleanliness. Hardware Handling: Unbox, connect, disconnect, cable, and rebox IT and networking equipment. Basic Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve basic hardware, power, and physical connection issues on-site. Project Support: Provide occasional onsite support for customer projects as needed.

Qualifications: Experience & Skills: Hands-on experience with physical IT hardware and solid written/verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Cisco Knowledge: Experience with Cisco environments is preferred, but no Cisco certifications are required (or preferred)—a willingness to learn on point is key.

Certifications: (Optional): CompTIA A+, Microsoft MCP/MTA, or equivalent certifications are a plus, but not required.

Education: A degree is preferred, but not required. Practical ability and standard screenings take precedence over a formal degree.

Requirements: Ability to travel occasionally to customer locations for project assistance.
