Mainframe Communication Systems Programmer/Sr()

Overview In this contract role, you will install, configure, and maintain the IBM Mainframe z/OS Communications Server stack while supporting a large, multi-customer environment. You will work on a project to restructure the Mainframe network across LPARs and provide on-call coverage as needed. You collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, scalable mainframe operations and high-quality customer service. This is a hands-on role that combines technical execution with steady problem solving and on-going support. Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain Mainframe Communications platform Provide ongoing support for IBM Mainframe z/OS Communications Server components (TCP/IP, VTAM, USS, OEM Print Software, EE, terminal emulators, OSA adapters)Implement the project to restructure the Mainframe network infrastructure across all LPARsMaintain 24x 7 on-call availability and handle off-hours as needed Monitor network infrastructure functionality and performance Troubleshoot and resolve performance and operational issues Work independently and as part of a team with strong customer service Key requirements Through knowledge of network infrastructure functionality and monitoring Deep familiarity with USS, TCP/IP Communications Server, VTAM, OSA Adapters, SMP/EExperience or familiarity with IBM mainframe tools (TSO, JCL, SDSF, ISPF, z/OS WLM, SMP/E, IDCAMS, IEBCOPY)Strong analytical, performance tuning and problem-resolution skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively Strong customer service skills Strong customer service Analytical thinking Team-orientedUNIX Systems Services (USS)TCP/IP Communications ServerVTAM
