Senior Database Developer

Overview In this role you will lead data-centric development for a federal government program, collaborating with database professionals to design, optimize, and manage large databases. You will drive data structures, ETL workflows, and data integrity across complex environments, while gaining exposure to new domains and technologies. The position blends hands-on database work with cross-functional collaboration to deliver mission-critical solutions. You will contribute to scalable data pipelines and performance improvements, in a hybrid Ashburn, VA setting. Compensation / Benefits Generous time-off policy Flexible work schedules and telework options Mentorship program and training Tuition reimbursement and paid training opportunities Health plans including dental and vision 401K matching Responsibilities Collaborate with a team of database developers and DBAs on application development programs Create new data structures and update existing ones Manage data within large, complex databases Develop and optimize ETL jobs and data pipelines Profile, cleanse, and validate data to ensure quality Troubleshoot and tune SQL for performance Write DDL, DML, and DCL statements Learn and apply new tools and domains as needed Communicate effectively with clients and technical staff Support data migration and validation in cloud environments Key requirements Bachelor's degree plus 7+ years in database development roles Data profiling, cleansing, reporting, data staging, ETL experience Strong SQL with complex data environmentsSQL tuning and performance optimization Experience with DDL, DML, DCLHands-on PostgreSQL development Python scripting Git/version controlAWS experience including data migration, validation, data pipelines, Cloud Watch, Kibana and Dynatrace Ability to learn new tools quickly Strong communication and diplomacy skillsstrong communicationdiplomacyteam collaboration PostgreSQLPythonSQL
