Senior Network Engineer

Overview In this role you will design, build, and operate hybrid network infrastructure spanning on‑premises and cloud environments to support Bain Capital’s global operations. You will drive modernization and automation from architecture through deployment, partnering with security and IaC specialists. The position emphasizes scalable, secure connectivity across data centers, branches, and clouds, leveraging Aruba/Cisco expertise. Compensation / Benefitscompetitive benefits package designed to support health, financial security, family needs, and well‑beingbase salary with discretionary annual bonusopportunity to work in a leading private investment firmglobal, cross‑regional roleon‑call rotation for critical incidents Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain hybrid network architectures across data centers, branches, and cloud environments Integrate cloud and on‑prem networks using AWS Direct Connect, Azure Express Route, VPNs, and secure routing policies Build and support Aruba/Cisco LAN, Wi‑Fi, and SD‑WAN infrastructures Advance IaC adoption for network provisioning and configuration management Create automation workflows using Terraform Cloud, Git, and scripting languages (Python, Shell, Power Shell)Contribute to CI/CD pipelines for auditable network deployments Support day‑to‑day operations for global on‑prem and cloud networks Manage global carrier services and connectivity across EMEA, APAC, and the Americas Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize infrastructure using vendor tools and APIsEvaluate and implement technologies that improve performance, scalability, and security Maintain accurate architectural and operational documentation Participate in an after‑hours/on‑call rotation for critical incidents Administer Check Point firewalls, including rulebase management and VPN configuration Implement and maintain Aruba Clear Pass NAC for authentication, segmentation, and access control Ensure adherence to Bain Capital’s network security standards across all environments Key requirements Minimum of 8 years of enterprise‑level routing and switching experience Hands-on experience with Aruba and Cisco LAN/WAN and wireless infrastructure Strong understanding of dynamic routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) and Layer 2 technologies (VLANs, STP, QoS)Experience managing Check Point firewalls, including policy creation and optimization In‑depth knowledge of AWS and/or Azure networking (VPCs/VNets, routing, connectivity)Strong proficiency in Terraform, Git, and VS Code Experience with Python or Shell scripting for automation and integration tasks Proven ability to design and document network architectures and reference designs Experience deploying and integrating network tools via APIs or microservices Aruba LAN/WAN and wireless Cisco LAN/WAN and wirelessSD-WANBGPOSPFVLANs
