Senior Lead DevOps Engineer

Overview In this role you will architect cloud platforms and automation to enable reliable, scalable deployments for Hilton’s hospitality tech stack. You’ll lead devops initiatives within the in-house Platform Engineering team, collaborating with UI, API, and microservices groups. You’ll drive automation, CI/CD, and cloud-native operations to support mission-critical services at scale, balancing security and performance. Compensation / Benefits Incredible travel perks – 110 discounted nights via Go Hilton travel program Employee stock purchase program (ESPP) with 15% discount Paid parental leave Caregiving concierge services Mental health resources and EAPGenerous PTO Responsibilities Architect next-generation cloud platforms and automation solutions Develop code-driven automation to ensure environment consistency across stages Create long-term automation using Groovy, Shell, Python, Terraform, or Java/Java Script Assess architectural concepts for infrastructure and security improvements Support API Gateways and API Management platforms (WSO2, Apigee, Kong, AWS API Gateway, Mule Soft)Manage API lifecycle including design, versioning, security (OAuth 2/JWT), throttling, and monitoring Provide technical leadership for UI, APIs, and microservices Guide best practices and operational standards with development teams Participate in on-call rotations for mission-critical cloud services Design and implement enterprise Dev Ops architectures, reference patterns, and tooling Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines across the organization (Git Lab preferred)Drive the MSK/Kafka roadmap with upgrades and observability Enable secure, reliable software builds and deployments across Agile teams Configure, tune, deploy, and operate Kubernetes clusters (EKS preferred)Maintain containerized applications with Docker or similar tech Key requirements Seven years of professional experience in technology Five years of CI tool experience (Git Lab preferred) or Bamboo Four years in automation for Continuous Delivery Four years administering Kubernetes Four years on AWS cloud platforms Proficiency in Bash scripting Experience supporting reliability efforts and on-call rotations Experience deploying API platforms in Kubernetes environments (EKS preferred)Technical leadership Cross-functional collaboration Problem-solving under pressure Git Lab (CI/CD)Bamboo (CI/CD)Terraform
