Senior Network Communications Engineer - EADGE-T EXPAT UAE

Overview In this full-time expatriate role in the UAE, you help design, secure, and optimize high-performance networks supporting critical air and missile defense operations. You will join a multidisciplinary team on the UAE Tech Refresh to modernize communications infrastructure and advance cybersecurity. Your work enables trusted, cross-domain connectivity across multiple security domains for an international customer. Compensation / Benefits Medical Dental Vision Flexible work arrangements (e.g., 4x 10)401(k) match Paid time off Responsibilities Design and develop secure network architectures translating system requirements into network solutions (LAN/WAN, firewall policies, IP addressing, QoS, encryption, authentication)Install, configure, and integrate routers, switches, firewalls and related infrastructure, complying with DoD STIGsEnhance network performance via capacity planning, latency analysis, traffic engineering, and proactive troubleshooting with standard tools Apply cybersecurity practices including Zero Trust, NIST 800-53 controls, firewall management, and network segmentation across domains Support network automation and configuration management using Ansible, Python, SNMP, NETCONF, CLI, and scripting Create technical documentation, diagrams, and procedures while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams Key requirements Bachelor’s degree in Network Communications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or Cyber Security 3+ years hands-on network engineering experience Cisco CCNA/CCNP/CCIE or Juniper JNCIA/JNCIP/JNCIE (preferred)Experience with TCP/IP, VLAN, RSTP, LAG, VTEP, BGP, OSPF, GRE, MPLS, TLS, IPsec, MACsec Proficiency in scripting/automation (Python, Power Shell, Ansible, Terraform)Knowledge of logging tools (Arc Sight, Splunk, Syslog)Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, VPNs, PKI, firewalling, encryption methods; NSA CSFC awareness Ability to obtain US DoD Secret Clearance Ability to work onsite in UAE for 3–4 years Willingness to travel within UAE and support after-hours activities Analytical and problem-solving prowess Pressure resilience and multi-priority management Collaborative communication with cross-functional teamsLAN/WAN design and optimization Firewall management and STIG compliance Zero Trust and NIST 800-53 controls
