SR SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Overview In this role you will help design software platforms, automation, and data-driven solutions for active electric/optical interconnect products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable scalable manufacturing and product development at TE’s Middletown facility. You will tackle challenges at the intersection of software, automation, and photonics, delivering tools that accelerate development and manufacturing. Compensation / Benefitshealth insurance 401(k)disability insurancelife insuranceemployee stock purchase planpaid time off Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain software applications for product development, manufacturing, testing, and automation initiatives Create software for automated assembly systems, machine vision, robotics, motion control, and data acquisition Develop dashboards and data management solutions for manufacturing, test, and product performance data Integrate software with lab equipment, automation platforms, databases, vision systems, and enterprise apps Develop software for product validation, automated testing, data logging, and performance characterization Build manufacturing software to improve process control, efficiency, traceability, and quality Collaborate with optical, mechanical, electrical, process development, manufacturing, signal integrity, and quality teams Produce software requirements, architecture docs, validation protocols, user guides, and deployment documentation Key requirementsBS or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred 5–8+ years of experience in software applications, automation, or engineering systems Strong programming skills in Python, React, C#, C++, Java or equivalent Experience with Git (CLI), Git Hub, Git Lab; CI/CD pipelines; Jenkins; Jira; Confluence; Agile SDLCExperience in desktop, web, or engineering software development Knowledge of industrial automation, BER test equipment, and manufacturing integration Data management: databases, SQL, data acquisition, analytics, reporting Software architecture basics: OOP, APIs, system integration; automated testing and validation Problem solving Clear communication across diverse teams Project management and prioritization Python, React, C#, C++, JavaRESTful APIs and UI/UX modernization PyTest and automation frameworks
